FAQs
1. What services does Nurture Lactation provide?
We offer prenatal breastfeeding education, lactation consultations including but not limited to pumping guidance, infant feeding assessments, flange fittings, and ongoing breastfeeding support for families throughout their feeding journey.
2. Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with several major insurance plans, and many families receive lactation visits at little or no out-of-pocket cost. Coverage varies by plan, so we encourage you to verify benefits prior to your appointment.
3. What happens during a lactation consultation?
Your 60-90 minute visit includes a full assessment of both parent and baby, feeding observation, customized care planning, and education tailored to your goals. We also provide a written care plan after the visit and communicate with your healthcare provider as needed.
4. Can you help with pumping or bottle-feeding issues?
Absolutely. We support all feeding methods. We assist with pump selection, flange sizing, bottle refusal, combination feeding, paced bottle-feeding, return-to-work planning, and more.
5. When should I schedule an appointment?
Any time you have questions or concerns, please schedule an appointment to address concerns as soon as possible. Ideally, we connect during your pregnancy to establish care and help prepare you for a smooth start to breastfeeding.
